FAQS

How does the program work?

BEFORE OUR CONSULTATION

  • Feel free to send me an email directly or schedule a free 15-minute consultation through this site.

  • After our initial communication via phone chat and email, if you decide to use my services, then the next step will be to check your calendar and find a block of time when you have a completely uninterrupted, absolutely free 2 week-period for the sleep training to take place. This should be a period of time where you don’t have any plans to: take vacations, go out of town, attend big family/friends’ events (weddings, birthday parties), go to pediatric vaccination appointments, etc.

  • Next, figure out a couple of dates/times for a minimum of 60-minutes window that you’d be available for our consultation.

  • I will send you a scheduling calendar for you to book the consultation. At the same time, you will receive an invoice that should be paid immediately to confirm your consultation time.

  • After our consultation is booked, I will e-mail you a Client Intake Form to fill out. This needs to be completely filled out to the best of your knowledge and returned to me within 48 hours before our consultation. I highly encourage parents/caregivers to fill out the forms together and get other caregivers in the house on board.

  • Write down questions, notes, and thoughts you want to discuss with me at our consultation.

  • And… get excited! This is the beginning to end your sleepless nights!

DURING OUR CONSULTATION

  • Get yourself a cup of tea, take a deep breath, and relax.

  • Be generous to share your concerns and thoughts with me. You don’t have to take notes. I will write down everything we discuss during the consultation.

  • We will go over your Intake Form, I will ask for more details, answer your questions, and discuss the best sleep solution and daytime schedule that will fit you and your child.

  • If the consultation is an in-person session, I will assess your child’s bedroom and offer tips and suggestions to set up a healthy and age-appropriate sleeping environment.

  • By the end of the session, we will decide on which sleep solution to implement and go over the key elements one more time together.

AFTER OUR CONSULTATION

  • Within 48 hours after the consultation, I will e-mail you a very thorough sleep plan and a sleep log for you to keep a record of your child’s sleep during sleep training.

  • I will e-mail you a list of items you should prepare in order to optimize your child’s sleep environment, such as a toddler clock, black-out curtains, a noise machine, etc.

  • Based on the service package you chose, you will get daily support from me during my service period. During the first week, let’s keep our communication frequent. I find it to be very efficient and helps us keep setbacks at bay.

  • During the second week, you will find things to have calmed down considerably, and I will follow up with you less frequently; but if you have any questions, you can shoot me an email and I will get back to you within 12 hours.

I’m not located in Los Angeles. Can you still help me?

  • Absolutely yes! Although I would love to meet you face-to-face, we can meet via phone, video-conferencing and email. If you reside outside of Los Angeles area, my Virtual Plans would be best for you. Click here to learn more.

I found the Cry It Out (CIO) method to be very controversial. Is your sleep training CIO-based?

It is great to hear parents talk about the research that they have done on existing sleep training methods. I’m a total sleep nerd and can chat with parents about sleep for hours (if they’ll allow me). Cry It Out is a very sensationalized term to describe sleep training methods. During sleep training, your child will have to adapt to new routines and independent sleep habits; therefore, a certain level of crying will inevitably be involved in the process. How much crying? It depends on the child. Why are they crying? They are protesting the new changes.

As a parent myself, I completely understand the anxiety that parents have when they hear their baby’s crying. There are various solutions and useful tips that we can incorporate in each family’s sleep plan. If you want to minimize crying as much as possible, I will customize a plan that is gentle and effective.

Change is never easy – for children or for parents. My philosophy is to respect your parenting style and provide support that fits both you and your child’s personality. Although listening to your baby crying for 5 minutes can feel like an entire year has gone by (and believe me – I’ve definitely been there too), I encourage parents to focus on long-term progress instead of temporary crying. At the end of the journey, your whole family will be rewarded with sweet and peaceful sleep.

My baby is not co-sleeping but we don’t have a separate room so we are room-sharing. Can you still train my baby?

Yes! I’ve trained babies (including twins) who used to sleep in the same room with their parents.

What if I decide to stop sleep training in the middle of the program?

I strongly recommend parents to maintain a good consistency during sleep training. However, I understand life happens and things might get too hectic. If parents decide to stop sleep training, there will be no refunds, but I will be happy to pick it up from where we left off (or start over from the top) when you are ready to fully commit to the program again.

Should I consult with our child’s pediatrician before we start the program?

Absolutely! For younger babies who may still need night feedings, I encourage parents to get feeding instructions/advice from your pediatrician and we can work on a plan based on the amount of feedings that your baby needs.

When can I start?

I’m ready when you are. The help you need is only a call/email away and I look forward to hearing from you.
